We clearly see a broad amorphous halo characteristic of amorphous materials.
This is why metallic glasses are considered macroscopically brittle materials but microscopically ductile.

Methanotrophs-bearing liquid cultivated from the aged refuse has been proved to be effective for improving methane oxidation ability of landfill cover materials, and this is significant for CH4 emission control in landfill site.
Sprinkling methanotrophs-bearing liquid on the cover materials such as the aged refuse can increase amount of methanotrophs in them and is advantageous to improve their methane oxidation ability[10].

A framework for optimization of process parameters in material processing and production is described.
Several requirements must be met in order that the process runs smoothly and without defects in output material.
Together with chemical composition, this affects the final mechanical properties of produced material.

Introduction Bioactive glasses are important bioceramic materials and have been used for the repair and reconstruction of diseased bone tissues.
To date, clinical applications of bioactive glasses are limited to those materials synthesized by melting processes.

Preparation of Humidity Control Ceramics from Selectively Leached Kaolin Shangfeng Du, Yunfa Chen and Yun Liang Multiphase Reaction Laboratory, Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing 100080, China Keywords: Humidity control materials, Kaolin, Water vapor adsorption Abstract.
In the last decade, there has been a growing interest in so-called mesoporous crystalline materials (MCM-41 type materials).
However, because of high cost of porous silica, another material, selectively leached kaolin has been used to prepare humidity control materials [4-6].
So, this material could be effectively used as humidity control elements in construction materials and other humidity control fields.

The components of composite materials [2-4] were chosen to confer high thermo-mechanical and filtration properties to cellular materials [5]: - providing the possibility to use different types of filtering elements in terms of the used composite material (with different values for porosity, cell size, etc.) and different geometrical dimensions; - very long lifetime; - good mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance; - relatively wide temperature range for industrial use; - the filtering element can be washed/cleaned for reuse. 2.
We also perform some tests of superlight cellular materials in real operating conditions by making special bodies for these filters (figure 6), assembled in an installation which scheme is shown in figure 7.
