Abstract.
Probabilistic Fatigue Life Prediction Fatigue life prediction is a developing science and is influenced strongly by probabilistic issues.
These relate to the sequence and magnitude of loading, the size of defects and cracks in the material, the properties of the materials and quality of manufacture.
Description of Improved Method of Fatigue Design of Lighting Poles A simplified probabilistic based method has been developed for modelling the life of lighting poles subjected to wind, by incorporating probability functions into some of the key variables such as wind spectrum, crack growth and materials properties.
International Journal of Fatigue 27: (2005) pp. 752-767

Introduction
Metallic materials are still the most commonly used material for moving parts of mechanical assemblies.
In recent years, the area of coating materials has undergone significant evolution.
The ever-increasing market demand causes the development of new materials and ideas of coatings[2,3,5,6].
Although materials known for their natural self-lubricating properties are often used, modern deposited methods considerably extend their applicability [1].
Self-lubricating materials may vary widely in physical, chemical properties and structure which results in different classification methods.

The use of agricultural wastes and natural materials in new technologies is a novel subject.
Work has been carried out on making these fluids completely from bio-based materials so as to make them more eco-friendly, safer and biodegradable.
The use of bio or agro-based materials in modern technology is the new trend for sustainable environment.

Research in modeling and simulation of energy converters demands multidisciplinary knowledge and competence involving, among others, modeling techniques, mechanics, computer science, numerical methods and computer-aided design.
Through simulation, the system performance is improved by virtually testing [3] the relevant physical laws, designing suitable geometrical shapes or profiles and selecting appropriate materials.
The material and geometrical data of this phase are used to establish the stiffness matrix or its equivalent property matrix.
