Third, changes in family composition and lifestyle promote changes in the use of space, construction techniques, and materials for traditional architecture, resulting in the loss of the original characteristics of traditional settlements.
In terms of preserving the Dong rural settlement, it is as serious as the changes in building materials and structure techniques.
However, changes in modern lifestyle have transformed the original homogeneous settlement continuum into hetero-buildings that feature different materials, construction techniques, and architectural forms (Fig. 9).
