Using the shaker device grain size reduction and the mechanically induced formation and thermal stability of wüstite was observed.
However, using the planetary device only grain size reduction was observed without chemical reaction to form wüstite.
In particular, the similar reduction of the grain size in the 2hS and 50hP samples and the absence of FeO in the 50hP sample suggest a threshold in the mean energy transfer rate to form the non-equilibrium phase.
The increase in the area of the exothermic peaks is in agreement with the XRD data, showing increase in the amount of FeO with the milling time, whereas the shift of the peak temperature suggests higher thermal stability of FeO.

Conclusion Based on the research findings and data analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: 1.
