This volume collects papers presented at the 5th International Conference on Modern Trends in Manufacturing Technologies and Equipment (ICMTMTE 2021) was held in Sevastopol from 6 to 10 September 2021. The conference provided scientists and industry experts with the opportunity to share the latest developments in materials science and technologies of materials manufacturing and processing.
This volume was collected on the results of the 6th International Conference on Solid State Science and Technology (ICSSST2017, 13 – 16 November 2017, Penang, Malaysia) and the main objective of this volume is to present the latest findings of researches on solid-state science and technology in all aspects of physical and chemical properties, preparation and characterization techniques, optical properties; macro-, micro- and nanostructures. We hope this book will be useful for many engineers and researchers in the area of materials science.
The Monte Carlo method, largely the brainchild of Stanislaw Ulam and first implemented by John von Neumann, depends upon the use of digital computers and is therefore very much a product of post-WW2 technological developments; even though one could argue that the Buffon’s Needle estimate was an ancestor of the technique. The probabilistic nature of the method makes it a good choice for modeling those physical phenomena which involve similarly random motions at the atomic scale; a particularly good example being that of mass diffusion. The present volume comprises a compilation of selected Monte Carlo studies of diffusion in borides, carbides, diamond, graphene, graphite, hydrides, ice, metals, oxides, semiconductors, sulfides, zeolites and other materials. General aspects of diffusion are also covered. The 516 entries cover the period from 1966 to 2014.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
These proceedings consist of the 69 papers which were submitted to the 2012 International Workshop on Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage which was held on March 23-25 in Shenzhen, China. The goal of this workshop was to provide a forum where researchers, engineers and students could discuss their latest research results and exchange experimental conclusions concerning the latest developments in the field of new energy materials.
These are the proceedings of the International Conference on Functional Materials and Nanotechnology (FMN2012), held on the 19 and 20th May, 2012, in Zhengzhou, P.R. China. They focus on Functional Materials and Nanotechnology. The peer-reviewed papers are divided into Chapter 1: Advanced Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology; Chapter 2: Nanotechnology, Mechanics and Materials Science; Chapter 3: Materials Applications, Green Chemistry and Mining Engineering; Chapter 4: Materials, Biotechnology, Manufacturing Engineering and Environment.
This work, with its 265 peer-reviewed papers, aims to address the hottest issues in materials and mechanics. It covers a wide range of topics in those areas; including materials science, mechanical engineering and materials, industrial applications of materials and mechanics, etc.: a useful and timely guide to the subject matter.
