This edition is devoted to analysing materials properties and technologies of materials processing and synthesis. Structural metal materials and technologies of their processing, analysis of corrosion properties of steel, properties and technologies of polymers and composites processing and the practice of application of some additive manufacturing technologies, research and study of building materials properties and fire-resistance of main construction materials, technologies of dye degradation and absorption in industrial wastewater, and examples of using the density functional theory method for computational research of thermoelectric materials and electronic structure of semiconductors are the main topics of this special topic publication. This book will be helpful to a wide range of specialists in machinery, construction, and environmental engineering.
This volume contains original, peer-reviewed research papers from the 2nd International Conference on Materials Science and Industrial Applications (MSIA 2020), which was held on January 11-12, 2020 in Xi’an, China. The presented collection reflects the last results of researches and engineering decisions in the area of materials science and technologies of materials synthesis and processing.
The present publication arises as a result of the cooperation between the Institute of Production Technologies (IPT), belonging to the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology (MTF) of the Slovak University of Technology (STU) and TRANS TECH PUBLICATIONS INC. For the fifth time, the book aims at publishing scientific achievements on the Materials Science and Production Technologies fields, as well as at enhancing the worldwide cooperation and recognition among young and senior academicians and/or practitioners. Some of the main topics included in the book are those related but not limited to the trends in Materials Science and their application in industry, e.g.: composites and biomaterials, polymers, materials weldability, analysis of metals and alloys, numerical analyses and simulation of materials, etc. Most of these topics keep a direct relation to the production technologies and systems and thus, always keeping a special focus on the materials used, there are also topics in the book addressing key production processes, technologies and systems.

Organized and Hosted by China Powder Technology Association, the 2013 International Forum on Powder Technology & Application was held in Shenyang, China from 27-29 October, 2013.The papers presented at the forum are collected in these proceedings. The topics range from the purification, pulverization, modification of mineral powders to the synthesis,and application of mineral materials,mineral processing and enviromental protection.
The main focus of this collection of peer-reviewed articles is biohydrometallurgy. This is the field of microbial ecology which is the key to answering central questions concerning not only the diversity and behavior of micro-organisms in commercial operations, but also possible applications in biohydrometallurgy of extremophiles coming from very different environments.
