Description:

The 46th volume of the journal "Advanced Engineering Forum" contains papers that present the research results on properties of carbon fibre reinforced metal matrix composite and multiwalled carbon nanotubes nanocomposite, conditions of mass and heat transfer under nanofluid by numerical modelling, strength properties and microstructure of sandcrete blocks incorporated with maize straws. The volume also describes the optimal control strategy for energy management of PV-diesel-battery hybrid power system of a stand-alone micro-grid and analyses the thermal and emission performance of in-house developed natural and forced draft metal biomass cookstoves. The analysis of the possibility of implementing the system of qualification and certification of the inspection personnel in the welding field will be also interesting to readers. The professionals, students and scientific investigators working in the various engineering fields will find this volume of value.

Description: Engineering systems and materials do experience heating or cooling of some kind during operation. Modelling and theoretical analysis of heat transfer problems will enhance the functional success of the materials and enable new product development in engineering. The special issue on “Engineering Fluid Flows and Heat Transfer Analysis” of the journal “Diffusion Foundations” presents some novel theoretical analysis of various engineering heat transfer problems. Topics covered in this special issue include reactive fluid flow, magnetohydrodynamics, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid flow, natural convection, forced convection, mixed convection, porous media flow, and thermal radiation absorption effects.

Description:

The main scope of the Ninth Japanese-Mediterranean Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic, Superconducting, Multifunctional and Nanomaterials (JAPMED’9) is to exploit synergies in technological advances concerning innovative materials and improved design optimization methodologies in the frame of concrete applications by bridging the gap amongst the respective scientific communities. The aims are to create appropriate links for the participants to share knowledge and experience and for the cross-fertilization of new ideas and developments in applied electromagnetics, design, analysis, new material utilization, from macro-, micro-, to nano-scale and optimization techniques including applications related to biomedical engineering, superconductivity, ultraprecision engineering, nanotechnology, energy and environment. Topics related to practical applications, operation, maintenance are also highly encouraged.
