Description: The International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ICSCRM) is the most important technical conference series on silicon carbide (SiC) and related materials. Started in Washington, D.C. in 1987, the conference series developed into a bi-annual global forum on SiC from its crystal growth to the reliability in application. After five conferences in the U.S., ICSCRM has been held every two years, alternating between USA, Europe, and Japan. The last three Conferences were held in Giardini Naxos, Italy (2015), Washington, D.C. , USA (2017), and Kyoto, Japan (2019). Due to the pandemic situation in 2020 and 2021, the alternating European edition, the 13th ECSCRM, has been held in 2021, and the 19th ICSCRM has been postponed to 2022. The 19th edition of ICSCRM will be the last of its kind – starting in 2023, the conference series will be united with the European edition. It will form an annual event under the well-established name ICSCRM and a new rotation schedule integrating the SiC communities worldwide.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 8th European Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ECSCRM 2010), held in Oslo (Sundvolden Conference Centre), Norway, on August 29th – September 2nd. The editions of ECSCRM have developed over the years and, today, ECSCRM is the leading European conference in the field of ‘SiC and related materials and their applications’. This volume is divided into five chapters ranging from ‘SiC growth’ to ‘Biosystems’ and thus represents a comprehensive coverage of the field.

Description: Like the previous conferences in this series, POLYSE '98 covered many aspects of polycrystalline semiconductors. Whereas earlier proceedings had included many contributions on basic research, for example on the structural properties of single grain boundaries, later proceedings had included more articles on solar cells and thin-film transistors, seemingly marking a transition to a more technology-oriented conference. However, the contributions to POLYSE '98 show that the POLYSE-series is again bringing together researchers from basic research as well as engineers working on devices.

The 84 papers cover topics such as: beam-induced currents, thin-film silicon, silicon crystallization, oxide semiconductor films, chalcogenide and spinel films, chalcopyrite films, thin-film junctions and devices; thus providing an extensive survey of the most recent results in polycrystalline semiconductor research.

These volumes of Materials Science Forum contain selected papers presented at the Sixth International Symposium on Electrochemical Methods in Corrosion Research.
The focal points was the industrial application of electrochemical methods for corrosion testing and monitoring as well as for corrosion prediction, prevention and control. Special emphasis was placed on the availability and reliability of test methods for improving the quality of metallic materials and their industrial applicability, as well as on the equipment to be used to this end. Nevertheless, fundamental research was also covered by a large number of papers.

Description: Modern Technology depends upon silicon chips, and life as we know it would hardly be possible without semiconductor devices. Control over a given semiconductor's electronic properties is achieved via defect engineering, and the scientific and technical challenges in this field are manifold.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).

Description: In recent years the particular significance of Materials Science and Technology has been generally accepted in the industrial countries. The use of materials in different applications is limited due to their natural tendency to react with their environment, i.e. corrosion. Since corrosion is typically an electrochemical phenomenon, different electrochemical methods form the scientific basis of corrosion research.
