The Special Topic Volume is a result from the contribution of forty-one experts from the international scientific community in the respective field of research. It thoroughly covers recent work done in the area of photocatalysis. In recent year a boosting interest in the exploration of renewable energy sources and environmental abatement attracted the promises of photocatalysis particularly in hydrogen production by water splitting, storage of solar energy in sustainable chemical fuels, decomposition and removal of environmental pollutants and disinfection of water. Current environmental concern promises a bright future for this technology, particularly applications to improving the quality of water and of indoor and outdoor air. This volume provides the latest and in-depth coverage to photocatalytic materials and surfaces including their various applications for environmental and energy applications.

This work offers invaluable guidance to scientists, physicists, chemists, teachers and others, worldwide.
These are the proceedings of the International Conference on Nanotechnology Technology and Advanced Materials (ICNTAM 2012), held on 12-13th April 2012 in Hong Kong. They are divided into three sections. The first deals with Nanotechnology Technology. The second covers materials science and the third treats the use of manufacturing technology.
In these proceedings is to be found a wealth of original ideas and new viewpoints on all aspects of Information Science, Automation and Material Systems. The 140 peer-reviewed papers are grouped into three chapters: 1. Materials Science, Energy and Dynamic Systems; 2. Pressure Control Systems, Mechanics and Materials Science; and 3. Materials Engineering, Biochemistry and Energy Engineering.
This specialist volume is the sum of the contribution of thirty-four experts, in their respective field of research, from the international scientific community. It covers, in depth, newly-developed photocatalytic materials, photocatalytic surfaces, photocatalytic reactors and their design for the purposes of environmental clean-up applications plus hydrogen generation and storage. It provides up-to-date and detailed coverage of the physics and chemistry of nanomaterials and nano-composites, and the engineering of photocatalytic materials for environmental applications.
This work is intended to promote technologies for the development of micro-, nano- and cross-scale integration, to impart details of new micro/nano technologies, to spread relevant information and knowledge on every fields and to promote the industrialization and development of nanotechnology. The book contains 55 up-to-date articles in the areas of nanotechnology, nanomaterials, micro/nanofabrication, nanocomposites, nanoparticles, functional materials, MEMS devices and systems.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
