Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView:
The April 2011 conference was co-sponsored by the Hong Kong International Industrial Electronics Center and Shenzhen University in China. The 400 papers are divided into three volumes on manufacturing processes, automotive engineering, and information technology. Two papers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia review artificial intelligence methods for motor control, and two papers from Chongqing University describe microfluidic devices for manipulating cells and sorting particles. Several papers, such as one presenting a mobile application for identifying poisonous plants, fall well outside the field of mechanical engineering. Paper topics relevant to mechanical engineering include fabrication of titanium composites by reaction hot pressing, stress analysis of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell, and soot emission from a directed injection engine.
