Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: The 108 papers selected for ESOMAT 2012 present recent results on themechanical behavior, shape memory effect, pseudoelasticity and otherfunctional properties of copper-based, titanium nickel-based, and iron-basedalloys. A pair of papers from the University of Lorraine identify theparameters of a shape memory alloy model and propose an algorithm fordetermining the transformation surface of shape memory alloys through fullfield measurements. Other topics include the dynamic theory ofreconstructive martensitic transformations, precursor nanoscale textures inferroelastics, a bending test of old and modern Japanese swords, theinfluence of sintering on dental zirconia ceramics, and endodontic filesfor root canals.
