This collection of monographs contains papers originally presented during the International Conference on Smart Materials- Smart/Intelligent Materials and Nanotechnology and the second International Workshop on Functional Materials and Nanomaterials held in Melbourne, Australia, in December 2008. Generally, the focus is on smart materials and their applications, and to encourage the cross- fertilization of these materials with nanomaterials.
