Initiative Design of Tooth Profiles with Small Sliding Coefficients

Article Preview

Abstract:

This research aimed to propose an initiative design method for tooth profiles based on the given small sliding coefficients. A simplified derivation of the mathematical model of tooth profiles is presented. A design example is provided to illustrate the approach. The results show that tooth profiles designed by the proposed method have the small sliding coefficient. It is significant to improve the wear and friction properties and raise the life span of gears.
