Abstract: Combinning at home and abroad research results, a new method of ‘sinking ball’ was put forward to evaluate the workability of self-compacting mortar (SCM). The size of ‘sinking ball’ and the volume of mortar vessel have been optimized by experiments. The results show that: when the ball with 20mm in diameter, the mortar vessel with 60mm in diameter and 160mm in heigh, the results of sinking ball test are best; Meanwhile, results indicate that the time of curve reflects the flow ability of SCM, the slope changing of curve indicates the anti-segregate ability of SCM, the integral area of curve has great relation with self-compacting ability of SCM.

Abstract: The application of the gypsum composite concrete made with gypsum - cement - sawdust and additives on the antique architectural Bracket set was studied. Component design, mold making, pouring and conserving concrete of the Bracket set which was made by gypsum concrete, and production process of assembling and installing, construction and installation methods were introduced.

Abstract: The structural problem is the key and difficult point for the study of material composed of granules. In this paper, theory of full state function for material structure is put forward by examining the structural morphology of the material. The full state function of material structure reflects the structural properties of material. Thus it can also reflect the variations in of mechanical and geometric properties of material under external force, i.e. the constitutive relationship of material. The constitutive relationship established based on full state function is abbreviated as "full constitutive relationship”, which considers the structural properties of material. The constitutive relationship not only can derive constitutive relationship which considers material structure, but also the constitutive relationship with the identical form as that in classical theory when material degenerates into typical ideal elastic-plastic material. The theoretical method proposed in this paper transforms dynamic analysis of structural evolution into state analysis. By associating granular scale with macroscopic scale, a foundation is laid for solving of the structural problems of material macroscopically.

Abstract: Effects of three factors including perlite, kaolin and sintering temperature on the cylinder compress strength and bulk density of super-light aggregate were studied by using the orthogonal experimental analysis. Results indicated that:the sequence order of the influence of three factors on the cylinder compress strength of super-light aggregate was: Kaolin>Sintering temperature>Perlite;while as for the order of influence of three factors on the bulk density was: Perlite>Kaolin>Sintering temperature. Based on the orthogonal experimental results, the super-light aggregate was prepared with the perlite dosage of 13%, kaolin dosage of 20% and the sintering temperature of 1200°C. The bulk density and cylinder compress strength was 335kg/m3 and 1.1MPa, respectively.

Abstract: In order to research the properties of crumb rubber (CR) and polyphosphoric acid (PPA) composite modified asphalt binders, an orthogonal test design is employed to arrange the experimental program. Three particle sizes of CR, three contents of CR and PPA were representatively selected as three influencing factors and levels. A total of nine composite modified asphalt binders were produced in laboratory and the conventional penetration grading indexes including penetration, softening point and ductility were conduced. The results indicate that the properties of composite modified asphalt binders are improved not only at high temperatures but also at low temperatures compared to the base asphalt binder. Based on variance analysis, the optimal proportion of CR and PPA composite modified asphalt is recommended.

Abstract: Through compression tests on 30 plain concrete and polypropylene fiber concrete specimens with the dimensions of 100mm × 100mm × 100mm , studied the influence of the different scales of polypropylene fiber and hybrid fiber on concrete compressive strength and compressive deformation. The results showed that: the compressive strength of concrete for single-doped fiber has little effect to improve concrete compressive strength, some even get lower, but mixing-doped coarse-fine fiber had increased 6.2%~13.7%. Doped-fiber can improve the concrete compressive toughness, it's enhancement sort: mixing-doped coarse-fine fiber concrete > single-doped coarse fiber concrete > single-doped fine fiber concrete> plain concrete

Abstract: The outer-wall thermal insulation system has been wide used in civil engineering as an effective energy-saving measure. At present, the organic flammable thermal insulation materials such as EPS and XPS are used in outer-wall thermal insulation system in China, which leads to great fire damage probably. The rock-wool is described in detail on its merits such as good thermal insulation performance, good sound insulation performance, light weight, low thermal conductivity coefficient, incombustibility, innocuity and stable chemical capability. Two popular outer-wall external thermal insulation systems are introduced. The construction sequence of the outer-wall external thermal insulation system with rock-wool slabs, mortar and thin layer plastering technology is described.

Abstract: On the influence of "ritual", the planning of China ancient capitals showed unique and national characteristics. The layout of capitals usually pursued the isomorphism with sky. It performed the forms that, square shape, palaces in the middle and in the north of cities, axial symmetry, left imperial ancestral temple and right Country Altar, three courts and five gates, courts front and bedrooms behind, etc. These strategies of ancient capitals planning still had continue to be used in modern cities. Grid road system can bring out unit system. Both of them benefit for cities dividing. Learning from the past experience, we can direct our urban designning today.

Abstract: The Red Buildings is going to be incorporated into the Marshal Zhang’ Mansion memorial which exhibits as the State-level key cultural relics protection unit. It will be an important component of the whole exhibition. We based the design on the research of design orientation and function conversion. After studied the history of the buildings and analyzed the differences between the old and the new functions, we made a principle of less change. First, we set two different routes for the visitors and the vehicles in the Red Building. And the visitors’ route was connected whit the tour route of Marshal Zhang’ Mansion memorial closely. Second, we set up one tour axis with four landscape nodes and two landscape axes inside the Red Buildings. They will outstanding original condition and show nice scenes of the whole buildings to visitors.

Abstract: Within undergraduate architecture programs, structural design is typically taught in the engineering tradition, with a focus on fundamental principles, analysis and calculation. Architecture students however often find it difficult to make use of such learning in the design studio. This paper discusses a course offered to postgraduate students of architecture that was developed to integrate digital architectural design and structural design in the making of physical structures. As a part of the course, students designed cardboard chairs that were presented to and tested by five year old children to demonstrate to architecture students the immediate responsibility that structural designing incurs. The integration of design, construction of structurally sound chairs and the subsequent testing by users enabled participating students to incorporate structural thinking into their design processes. The applied exercises enriched the theoretical aspects of the course and provided opportunities for multi-faceted and engaging learning experiences.
