Abstract: In order to find out the variations of soil heavy metal contents in Mengcheng, the heavy metal of the soil was tested in the same way in 2010, based on the survey results of 2001. The results showed that the contents of the 8 kinds of heavy metal in Mengcheng County were lower than those of the national standard, but the heavy metal content of Mengcheng County in 2010 were significantly higher than those in 2001, especially Pb, and the content of Hg, Ni, As also increased greatly; The increased of changing rate of various heavy metals contents are in the following descending order: Pb> Hg> Ni> As> Cu> Cd> Cr> Zn. The uneven dispersion of various heavy metals element in different sections of Mengcheng County also increased.

Abstract: We constructed artificial aquatic water spinach wetland and studied its characteristics on removing nutrients from stored algae anaerobic biogas slurry. The results showed that, when the hydraulic loading was less than 0.10m3/(m2•d), the removal efficiencies of TN and TP were more than 95%, and the effluent quality met class A standard of Urban sewage treatment plant emission standards(GB18918-2002). The uptake rates of water spinach on TN and TP were 1.31 mg/(g•d) and 0.23mg/(g•d). The uptake by water spinach was the main pathway for artificial wetlands to remove nitrogen and phosphorus. The TN and TP removed by plant uptake accounted for 60% and 98% of the total removal, respectively. The nitrification potential of artificial aquatic vegetable wetland decreased gradually along the flow direction with increasing declination extent, while the denitrification potential first increased and then decreased.

Abstract: Within our screening program for antimicrobial additives, six compounds were isolated from an endophytic fungus Fusarium solani of Ficus carica. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Moreover, all of them showed potent antibacterial and antifungal activities.

Abstract: The important and typical roles of earthworms in the eco-environmental protection are illustrated in this paper through their application in the treatment of solid waste, sludge stabilization as well as the wastewater purification. Earthworms can hasten the composting process to a significant extent with production of a better quality of compost.

Abstract: It's is very effective using high intensity magnetic separation and low intensity magnetic separation to process magnetite tailings. The best fineness for separation is -0.045mm 85%. The concentrate contains Fe 67.86% under 0.2T field intensity. Processing the tailings twice under 0.5T field intensity, the concentrate contains Fe 55.06%.The total recovery is 53.72%. The study on low-grade iron ore tailings to recover iron achieves good results in improving resource utilization.

Abstract: Sulfoaluminate cement (SAC) was utilized for the solidification/stabilization of fly ash from municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerators. The effects of fly ash amount and water/binder ratio were investigated on compressive strength and heavy metals leaching toxicity of solidified matrices at different curing times. The results showed that prolonged curing time, lower fly ash amount and water/binder ratio enhanced the compressive strength and decreased the leaching concentrations of Zn, Pb and Cu. For 28 days cured matrices with fly ash amount 50% and water/binder ratio 0.30, the compressive strength was 32.6 MPa and the leaching concentrations of Zn, Pb and Cu were 14.73, 0.75 and 0.43 mg/L respectively. The leaching concentrations of Zn, Pb and Cu met the demand of GB 5085.3-2007. SAC is proved to be effective for MSW incinerator fly ash solidification/stabilization and high performance matrices for disposal and reuse may be achieved with further formula optimization.

Abstract: Using gray relational analysis, the relational degree between the production and impact factors of municipal solid waste (MSW) is calculated. Based on gray model GM(1,5) and gray model GM(1,1), the prediction models of MSW production were set up, on which base, MSW production from 2010 to 2020 in Changchun city is predicted. The result shows the waste production prediction models on gray theory have minimal residuals, higher precision and a relatively high relational degree, and by 2020, MSW production in Changchun City will reach 228.67×104 t by estimation.

Abstract: Using grey system theory to research relationships between Chlorophyll-a and environmental factors in Wuliangsuhai lake was done in the present study. The effects of physical and chemical factors on chlorophyll-a in Wuliangsuhai lake, were evaluated by using of the gray connection method, providing a row order of those effects, and creating the “advantage factors” that exhibited the greatest effects on chlorophyll-a in wuliangsuhai lake, including temperature、illumination、EC、SD.

Abstract: The environmental conflict throughout land development varies for every landform. In hilly areas, the ecological effects, such as the properties of the land surface and the diversity of flora and fauna cannot be reflected through assessment indexes, which include the building density, green areas ratio, etc. This paper is to provide the impervious index and the corridor index as a complement to the master planners. The indexes is an approach that integrates ecological landscape principles and methods for analyzing the eco-rationality of the master planning using ecological indexes which provides a measure for adjusting development density. An application of the indexes to the residential development of Kunming Expo Eco-town in Yunnan Province, China is provided. The result shows that the indexes can be used to quantify the interrelationship between the development project and the environment and that the required regulatory measures for land development can be implemented via master plans.

Abstract: Some strategic environmental assessment (SEA) pilot cases in China strive to integrate environmental issues into the planning from the beginning. One of them is the SEA for development strategy of Tianjin Binhai New Area. The SEA adopted an interactive assessment mode with the decision-making process and predicted the environmental impacts of the development strategy on land resource, water resource, energy, surface water, atmospheric environment, and ecosystem of land area and offshore area. The future development strategy of circular economy and low-carbon economy in Tianjin Binhai New Area was also analyzed. Finally, experience from the SEA case was discussed. The case study shows that support from non-environmental agencies, early integration of SEA process and planning process, interactive assessment mode, and sensible environmental protection strategy facilitate the integration of environment into decision-making.
