Abstract: As a new type structural member, the steel arch with web openings combines the features of both arches and members with web openings and its applications has been found. Studies on in-plane stability behavior of two-hinged arches with web hexagonal openings are made using Eigen buckling model of the finite element software ANSYS. The buckling load and buckling mode are obtained and the in-plane buckling mode is antisymmetrical. It is shown that buckling load decreases gradually as the circumcircle radius of openings increases and it increases as the gap between openings increases through analysis of buckling load with different parameters such as r/h, g/h, f/l. It can be found that the structural efficiency is the highest when the radius of openings is 0.3h with the aid of optimized function.

Abstract: The paper, on the basis of the statistical data from 1980 to 2009 in Anhui province, uses linear regression method, Johansen test, Granger causality test and impulse response function to analyze the internal and external factors affecting the development of construction in Anhui. The results show as follows: the development of Anhui construction industry is characterized with the extensive economic growth pattern; the long-term equilibrium relationship is identified between the added value of the construction industry and its external factors; GDP and the added value of the real estate industry are the Granger causality of the economic development in construction; Real estate industry has made more contributions to driving the development of construction industry than that of GDP. In addition, this thesis gives some suggestions on the development of Anhui construction industry.

Abstract: In Chinese rural areas, flooding is one of the most common and frequent natural disasters, which can cause terribly life and property losses partly due to heavily damage and collapse of rural buildings. Therefore, it is very urgent to conduct comprehensive study on failure mechanism of rural buildings under flood actions. In this paper, the failure mechanism of rural buildings in flood is studied, and protection strategies are summarized with emphasis on describing some new technology proposed by authors. The contents presented in this paper may be useful references for further study on flood damage to rural buildings and be helpful for Chinese government to develop correct flood mitigation policies.

Abstract: Combined with the specific project in this paper, the working principle of prestressed high-strength concrete beam and floor system arrangement are presented. The prestressed high-strength concrete beam is simulated using ANSYS finite element software, the bearing capacity, stiffness and deflection are checked and the results can meet the requirement. Finally the prestressed construction technology and engineering economy of a classroom floor structure are given. These can provide reference for rational design of similar floor system.

Abstract: Taking the Longtan River Bridge as the engineering background , the seismic response analysis of high-pier and long-span continuous rigid-framed bridge considering travelling wave effect is simulated by means of the great mass method . Conclusions are drawn under asynchronous and synchronous excitation respectively , between which comparison indicates that the seismic responses for the main beams of continuous rigid-framed bridge are decreased at various degrees , such as the longitudinal horizontal displacement . The travelling wave effects on the piers are also related to the characteristics and locations of the bridge piers and so on .

Abstract: In this study, the subjective emotion, galvanic skin response and sweat rate of 10 volunteers were examined under different climatic conditions in a chamber. The conditions were 25°Cwith 50% relative humidity, 30°Cwith 90% relative humidity, 35°Cwith 90% relative humidity, 40°C with 90% relative humidity. The subjects, aged from 22 to 25 years old, performed sedentary trade with conscious water. All subjects completed the scheduled time of 120 minutes. The study showed that the skin wittedness but not the subjective emotion stimulus affected the galvanic skin response significantly. It indicated that physiology discomfort was the main cause of thermal discomfort, and the influence of psychology was faint in hot environment.

Abstract: By featuring buildings as pure objects, modern architecture neglects the implications of what happens in between buildings [1], which is resulting in the disappearance of character of the unique places. Hawaii State Capitol building is a symbol of modern architecture in downtown Honolulu, it adopts modern aesthetic and functional design to reflect the aspirations of a modern and progressive society, yet it is deeply rooted to Hawaiian tropical climate, natural landscape, multi-culture and history. The Capitol building has been merged within the building’s geographical context and culture context. It preserves the Hawaiian sense of place; fosters the sense of belonging for local habitants. The aim of this paper is to investigate how modern architecture can help individual find his place in the midst of nature and in the midst of community under the pressure of social and economic development by taking Hawaii State Capitol building as an example.

Abstract: Based on analysis on steel-concrete interface of a hybrid self-anchored suspension bridge, the shear distribution of shear studs under load and influence of contact friction on steel-concrete interface are studied in this paper. The results show the existence of friction reduces the stress of shear studs, but not affects the performance of box girder and shear studs under load, and the vertical stress of shear studs in steel-concrete joint is increasing with the space of neutral axis.

Abstract: In order to analyse bridge structure system reliability, studied various uncertainty factors on the influence of the bridge reliability, using the stochastic finite element method to analyse bridge reliability, according to the influence of bridge structure reliability uncertainty factors, including geometric parameter uncertainty, material properties uncertainty, the bridge weights uncertainty and the vehicle load uncertainty.According to the bridge actual working condition, respectively used stress and deflection deformation as the bridge structure safety control index, established 2 each reliability function, that is, considered the structure of the two failure mode.Using Monte-Carlo method to analyze the bridge structure reliability, verify the reliability analysis method is feasible, the bridge reliability about sensitivity factors, and provides the basis for the bridge structure reliability analysis.
