Abstract: Die casting technology is applied widely for mass production of non-ferrous metal parts. How to guarantee the quality of die castings is always a concerned topic. A quality control system for die casting machine was developed based on statistical analysis of technology parameters. Firstly the original data is acquired from die casting machine and the technology curves are displayed. Secondly, the technology parameters are identified automatically and a database of technology parameters is established. Thirdly, a statistical analysis based on the database is performed. The statistics parameters of expecta -tion and deviation are figured out and the probability distribution diagrams for technology parameters are displayed. Finally, Tolerances for technology parameters are figured out and then the system will monitor the die casting process according to the tolerances. A practical system realization in a die casting machine is demonstrated by its monitoring interfaces. Statistical information and on-line monitoring provided by this system are helpful to guarantee the quality of die castings.

Abstract: Based on the methodology and tools of quality control mode, this paper mainly focuses on six stage divisions of a new air conditioning product-service system development, such as concept stage, plan stage and design stage etc. It introduces with an example the application of quality control methods of each stage of this mode, and points out that the quality control methods have internal relationship and they should be organic combined to use to form a system.It not only shows that quality control mode is very effective concept and methodology in manufacturing industry, but also can be learned lesson from for more and more product-service systems to improve the quality control and product quality.

Abstract: To overcome traffic congestion problem and driving safety issues on highway, automatic lane keeping control of vehicles has become an attractive area of research. In this paper, an adaptive lane keeping control scheme for vehicles is proposed. An estimator for unknown curvatures of target lanes is developed and a method to design ideal transient responses is proposed. Finally, an adaptive steering controller to achieve ideal responses is developed. Lane keeping performance can be easily improved by setting only one design parameter and unnecessary high frequency vibration is hard to occur in the steering control input.

Abstract: Considering the nonlinear and uncertain influencing factors on stabilized platform of rotary steering drilling tool under work condition, a new intelligent sliding mode control strategy is presented for stabilized platform. The system robustness is ensured by sliding mode control. The upper bound of overall uncertainty is nonlinear approximated by RBF neural network, which can make the uncertain upper bound adjust adaptively. The chattering is reduced by quasi-sliding mode method. Finally, particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied to search the optimal controller parameters, including boundary layer thickness, switching function coefficient and adaptive parameter of neural network weight, Simulation results show that this control scheme can make stabilized platform get a good control performance and robustness.

Abstract: According to the operation principle of the DVR and analyzing of FCL’ s (fault current limiter) control objectives, this paper presents a new way that can fulfill the multiple control of the DVR. By using different kinds of control modes, it can make the DVR do the same way as FCL. It also establishes a single phase model basing on this theory. At last, it points out the future application of this new theory.

Abstract: Based on the present study of the de-icing robot for high-voltage transmission lines, a new kind of de-icing robot for transmission lines and its auxiliary equipment for hoisting and lowering the robot are designed. The operation of the robot mainly includes four modules: walking module, de-icing module, obstacle negotiation module and hoisting-and-lowering module. The robot’s walking is driven by the rolling of the idler wheel, the de-icing is realized by combination of knocking and cutting, the obstacle negotiation part relies on the rotary telescopic arm’s coordinate crisscross motion with the box, and the motion of the hoisting-and-lowering device is based on the fixed pulley principle. The de-icing tests in laboratory and field demonstrate that this new kind of robot can walk autonomously and de-icing well on the transmission line, it has good de-icing effects, and the auxiliary equipment for hoisting and lowering the robot is safe and feasible.
