Abstract: This paper discusses the process of the sustainable development and then elaborates on the current situation, definition and connotation of the development of sustainable transportation. Meanwhile, the paper finds similarities and differences by comparing the international and national definitions and connotations of the sustainable transportation. It is found that while the definitions of sustainable transportation are different in different research, there seems to be a consensus that progress must occur on at least three fronts: economic, environmental, and social sustainability. Then a new dimension of sustainable development is put forword for urban transportation and a new definition of sustainable transportation is developed. This paper provides not only a reference for indentifying suitable targets of sustainable transportation strategy under the national conditions, but also a strong theorical foundation for directing the development of urban transport.

Abstract: As we all know, the construction of expressway promotes regional economy development enormously. However, the investment for expressway is huge, including cost of manpower and material resource, which may also have negative effects on environment. Thus, the construction of expressway should be adapted to regional economy development and the environmental bearing capacity. Above all, based on the analysis of the interaction between expressway and economy, we choose GDP, population, vehicles and volume of passenger transport and freight transport as the evaluation index, which could reflect the interaction more comprehensive. Then, we construct the DEA model for coordinated evaluation and make a case research with the data of Shandong Province. As a conclusion, the result suggests that the construction of expressway is ahead of its time. And finally, we provide the modified value of expressway’s evaluation index in 2012. The DEA model in the paper is practical to evaluate the coordinated development between expressway and economy, which could be the reference for expressway development.

Abstract: Under the background of land-ocean development strategy and ocean development, China has entered the “bridge and sea era”, more than half of the coastal cities are building cross-sea bridge which has profound impact on urban space structure. By reviewing the cross-sea bridge construction and urban spatial structure evolution in China since the beginning of reform and opening up, this paper discovers that cross-sea bridges are almost of three types—from single core to dual-core, from dispersion to groups and land-island integration, which is related with the coastal cities’ geographical environment and closely associated with urban development strategy and developmental stage.

Abstract: The location may appear to be extremely important due to changes of some factors. Administrative division expansion of Hefei in August 2011 will affect its location advantage and accessibility. In this paper, updated data of the study area were collected including administrative division, transportation network and economic data, by using GIS spatial analysis methods and establishing the economic potential model, quantitatively evaluated the location advantage and accessibility of Hefei before and after the administrative area adjustment, and analyzed the economic relationship change between Wanjiang urban belt cities and Nanjing based on the gravity model. The results show that Hefei occupies the highest accessibility while Maanshan, Chuzhou and Wuhu comparatively rank behind before the administrative division adjustment, and the descending order is Maanshan, Hefei, Chuzhou and Wuhu after the administrative division adjustment. Although the location advantages of Hefei relatively reduced, the economic relationship have been further enhanced on the regional level, which played an important role in formation of the industrial cluster in Wanjiang urban belt and enhancing regional competitiveness, for easy integration into the Pan-Yangtze River Delta city group and promoting regional economic development in Anhui Province.

Abstract: Transport infrastructure makes important contribution to economic growth. At the same time, the economic growth provides support to the transport infrastructure. Based on the co-integration theory and Granger casualty analysis, using time series data in Tianjin from 1978 to 2010, empirically analyze the co-integration relationship and Granger causality between the index of all kinds of transport infrastructure and the GDP in Tianjin. Research shows that there are positive correlations between the length of road, railway, quay line and GDP. The length of road, railway and quay line is the Granger cause of GDP. However, GDP is not the Granger cause of transport infrastructure.

Abstract: China is the state with world’s fastest development and longest line mileage operated in high speed rail (HSR) industry, which authorizes a reduction in transportation costs and can be a tool for tourism destination development. This paper gives a detail introduction to the HSR between Wuhan and Shenzhen, especially on line plan and the current operation scheme. Then it concludes the impact of HSR between Wuhan and Shenzhen to tourism market along the line. At last, we give some suggestions on how to develop tourism industry better in HSR economy.

Abstract: Both revealed and stated preference survey were carried out to investigate public transportation modes choice of recreational tourists in Pearl River Delta which has highly developed transit network. It is found that travel time, number of transfers, fare and comfortableness are the four major factors to affect the modal choice. The multinomial logit model is built to describe the choice behaviors; and the parameters are estimated by the maximum likelihood method. Sensitivity analysis are performed to find the key factors that should be improved in the transportation integration. Analysis indicates that most of recreationists prefer to a fast and comfortable transportation mode, and finally suggestions to improve recreational transportation services are proposed.

Abstract: Copper slag, containing more than 40 wt% iron, is often used for pavement of roads, building bricks and cement etc. The level of this traditional utilization technology is very poor. In this study, a new method of comprehensive utilization of copper slag was investigated. The iron of copper slag was recovered and the residual slag was transformed into glass-ceramics within the same process involving iron reduction, iron-glass separation and glass crystallization. The experimental results indicated that the ratio of iron recovery was more than 99% and the crystalline phase of the obtained glass-ceramics was diopside. With the extension of crystallization time, the content of crystalline phase and the size of crystals of the glass-ceramics increase.

Abstract: According to the different thickness of the thin coatings, the echo signal of ultrasonic testing was extracted. The sound velocity in the coating medium was obtained by solving the mathematical model for transfer function and the time delay spectrometry method, and the coating thickness was calculated, the comparison error of the calculated thickness and the actual thickness, combined with the actual thickness of the coating. The results showed that, two kinds of testing methods are able to detect thin coating thickness.

Abstract: Radiation shielding concrete is widely used in nuclear power plants, accelerators, hospitals, etc. With the development of nuclear industry technology, research on radiation shielding material properties is of great importance. Research on properties of radiation shielding concrete with different aggregates or admixtures and the effect of high temperature on the performance of shielding concrete are introduced. Along with the nuclear waste increase, shielding concrete durability and nuclear waste disposal are getting paramount.
