Abstract: The field of sustainable development can be conceptually broken into three constituent parts: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability and sociopolitical sustainability. This paper uses the case study of Wuhan Shouyi area residential block urban design, discusses the concept of sustainable development of residential block urban design. In the current trend of residential district design, this paper may be able to lead to some better residential block planning design.

Abstract: Based on analysis on dynamic characteristics of energy intensity in three industries of Anhui province from 1995 to 2009, decompositions of energy intensity’s dynamic change was investigated proceed year by year, by the Laspeyres model. The result showed that: the reduction of energy intensity in the past decades was attributed to the improvement of industries’ energy efficiency, especially the improvement of secondary industries’ energy efficiency. At last, theoretical basis was provided for the adjustment of the secondary industries’ energy structure, by contrasting correlation coefficient of energy structure and energy intensity in the secondary industry.

Abstract: Cellular automata model is a dynamic evolution model with discrete space and time, it is powerful in spatial modeling and parallel computing, so it can take advantage of workstation to simulate the transformation process of complex spatial system. Using a model based on cellular automata to forecast the development of Xining has a great benefit for the urban development. Markov Chain model is widely used in forecasting a system which is changing smoothly, the Markov Chain would provide transition rules for the cellular automata. The main task is predicting the land cover of Xining in 2020 based on CA-Markov. and analyzing the characteristics of change of Xining between 1996 and 2020. Finally, some useful advices are provided for the current urban planning by analyzing the driving factors.

Abstract: Shanxi province has already made tremendous progress in economics, and human capital development in Shanxi province should be kept as before. This paper attends to analysis that human capital and economic growth is correlated positively in Shanxi province by analysis the data in 30 years before via technical aspect. Improvement per capita level of education, the proportion of higher education, the proportion of secondary and primary education to the population is conducive to economic development. The results of this paper show increasing proportion of the higher education population plays a greater role on economic growth in Shanxi Province.

Abstract: City is fragility in the face of huge disasters. Life city was put forword and it’s main characteristic was oriented by people’s lives. The concept model of life city is proposed including safety system, ecological system and execute system. The safety system is the core content of city development. It is discussed how to evaluate the life city and evaluation principles are determined. The evaluation system of life city is established and the evaluation indexs are given by questionaire research method.

Abstract: The total dynamic changes of the cultivated land and food production from 1990 to 2010 in Anhui Province were analyzed using the statistic data and minimum cultivated land per capita and pressure index on cultivated land were calculated based on cultivated land, food production and population. At the same time, adopting GM(1,1) model, per capita cultivated land area, minimum cultivated land per capita and pressure index on cultivated land were forecasted in the future7 years. The results show that: (1) the total amount of the cultivated land decreased on the whole, steady decline early, while increased considerably late; Grain output went up steadily in the fluctuation in general; and the change of minimum cultivated land per capita and pressure index on cultivated land was not significant. (2) GM (1,1) gray model shows per capita cultivated land area, minimum cultivated land per capita and pressure index on cultivated land decreased, and arable land per capita is higher than the minimum per capita arable land area which descript farmland productivity levels higher than the level of food consumption.

Abstract: The 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake caused enormous casualties and property losses. The post-disaster reconstruction, difficult, complex, and long, is a continuous systematic process, of which the livelihood issue is of paramount importance. This paper, through the field investigation in disaster area, conducts an in-depth study on the post-disaster reconstruction current situation and the trend of public opinion, puts forward a few reflections, analyzes and explores the countermeasures, in order to provide valuable experience and ideas on the reconstruction planning after earthquakes in the future.

Abstract: Urbanization is happening in the huge scale. Beside many advantages of urbanization such as economic and social growth, but at the same time, urbanization brings many problems like air and noise pollution. Urban sustainability aims to make balance between economic growths, environmental issues and social and welfare condition of a city to meet the present needs without jeopardizing the resources and future generation’s opportunity. In order to measure sustainable development progress of an area the role of indicator system is undeniable. In this pre-research work the sustainable development of the Isfahan city in Iran was studied based on 28 indicators in Economic growth, Environmental protection and social and welfare. Moreover the Improved Permutation Polygon Synthetic Indicator Method (IFPPSI) was used to synthesize the value of indicators and geometric illustrate of different indicators. The result showed that the synthetic value of indicators to measure sustainable development of Isfahan city is 0.5 which indicates moderate level of sustainability.

Abstract: Based on the comparative analysis, this paper discussed the similar and different parts of the sustainable sites indicators between ESGB and LEED. The results show the two evaluation system had different emphasis in land saving of green buildings. It should not completely copy the contents of LEED though ESGB could learn a lot from LEED.
