A Robust Design for a Complex System Based Satisfactory Optimization

Abstract:

A robust design method for complex product is presented in this paper, and the purpose of this work is to find a solution that maximum the range of variation of design factors and constraints while variation of response is limited in the given tolerance. First, the model of robust design is given, then an alternative model based satisfactory is developed. A numerical instance for piston design problem is put up to illustrate the method. Comparative analysis shows that the robust design method is more effective in the view of robustness than that of method existed.
