Numerical Simulation and Improvement of Diesel Pneumatic Motor Inlet Duct

Article Preview

Abstract:

Because traditional method combined experiential design with steady flow and experiment, couldn’t get the ideal results. It was very necessary to adopt intelligent analytic methods studying three-dimension inlet duct characteristics of diesel pneumatic motor. This paper established the inlet duct model with Gambit and conducted numerical simulation with Fluent. The results explained that chamfer and linear was related with inlet duct efficiency. Results show that, larger inner, outer chamfer and good streamline can well enhance the efficiency of diesel pneumatic motor inlet duct, which provide important guidelines to inlet duct's optimal design and improvement.
