Design of a Small Portable Wind/PV Hybrid Controller

Article Preview

Abstract:

Wind/PV hybrid generation technology is one of the hottest researching spots in the application areas of new or clean sources of energy. Designing a new small portable wind/ PV hybrid controller can effectively make use of wind power and solar energy to those whose are in the outdoor to work or tour . In this paper, 89C51 microcontroller as the intelligent control core was used to manage and control the wind/ PV hybrid system and accomplish the battery charging through a timer producing a high-frequency PWM. Meanwhile it used the Multisim software to simulate the 60W wind/PV hybrid system. The experimental data proved that the parameters of the hardware system were correct and the whole power system was secure and reliable.
