Feasibility Analysis of a Novel Ice Slurry Producing System

Article Preview

Abstract:

Ice slurry is thought to be an ideal material for ice-storage because of its good performance on cold storage and transport. However, the conventional ice slurry producing methods heavily depend on electric power and have their own disadvantages. So, this paper proposed a novel ice slurry producing system which consists of three major cycles: the liquid desiccant deep dehumidification cycle, the evaporative precooling cycle and the evaporative supercooling cycle. Research was made by simulation analyses on each process and the whole system, in order to verify its performance. Results showed that the proposed system can alleviate the burden on electric power and has high ice-producing efficiency.
