Modeling, Simulation and Optimization of Corner Milling

Abstract:

Considering the wide application of corner milling in the numerical control machining, it has great significance to predict the force variation and optimize the cutting parameters before the actual milling. This paper establishes the general algorithm to predict the variation of cutting width, with which the force of the cutting process can be acquired. Then the results of the prediction are validated through five different experiments with different parameters like feed rate and cutting depth etc. Especially, a way to optimize parameters of the corner milling process is proposed and verified by general prediction algorithm.
