Virtual Demonstrating System of Geoscience Survey Teaching

Article Preview

Abstract:

Virtual environment technology can simulate a real feeling environmentalso that subjects are correctly cognized in a more natural way, more intuitive visualization, and more realistic feeling. Virtual demonstrating system of geosciencefieldwork is implemented to simulate survey process of geoscience educationcharacteristics by the visualization technology. Object-oriented technology, ArcEnginecomponent and spatial database technology are adopted. It is featured by displayingthree dimensional field sceneries (flight, navigation), representing the multimediainformation about surveying spots (rock character, stratum occurrence, etc.),simulating geo-process, and testing learning effects and so on. Practice basein Liujiachang town, Songzi, Hubei Province, is taken as an example that geosciencesurvey teaching can be satisfied.
