Stator Structure Optimization of Cylindrical Bending-Type Ultrasonic Motor

In order to satisfy the design requirements of the stator structural of a cylindrical bending-type ultrasonic motor (CBTUSM) and improve the design methods at present, a new optimization program based on the parametric language APDL was used to optimize the stator structural, and a stator prototype (diameter of 30 mm, lenth of 34 mm) was fabricated. Optimized and measured results indicated that the center of the piezoelectric ceramics is very close to the wave peak of the stator bending mode, the calculated and measured values of the amplitude ratio of the stator driving side and terminal side are well consistent.
