Kinematics and Strength Analysis on Variable Propeller Pitch Mechanism of a Wind Turbine Generators

Article Preview

Abstract:

Kinematic accuracy of the pitch mechanism of a wind turbine was analyzed. The results show that the difference of the pitch angle and speed existed between the actual and theoretical value due to the elastic deformation of the parts and the hydraulic oil. Monitoring sensors were proposed, which was fixed on the blade plate and used to control the hydraulic cylinder motion and compensate the moving error. A file related with loads information of the key parts was created after motion simulation. After the file was input in ANSYS, the strength of the key parts was analyzed. Based on the results, the location, where the material was easy to yield or had the maximum stress, was found.
