Development of Aircraft Used Wires for General Purpose and a Study on the Application

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper makes an overview of the development of the wires for general purpose in aircraft, and an introduction of two types of prevalent wires today: XL-ETFE extruded insulated wires and PTFE/PI tape wrapped insulated wires. A performance contrast of these two types of wires is made from electrical, physical, environment resistance and weight aspects. A study on application of these wires in aircraft is also made, and finds the potential of the PTFE/PI tape wrapped insulated wires in weight saving and design optimizing.
