Design and Simulation of a Descent Control Device Based on Hydraulic Damping

Article Preview

Abstract:

High-rise building escape is now a more and more important problem. A DCD used for that was designed in this paper. By reverse using the principle of the piston-cylinder of engine, this device can translate the gravitational potential energy into hydraulic damping, so the descent speed of people could be decreased. This device mainly consists of the drive system and the speed control system, and the pulley was used for combining these two parts. A slider crank chain and a centrifugal speed regulating mechanism were designed to accomplish the control of speed. The software of Pro/E was used for simulating each component of this device in the end.
