Design and Research on CAD/CAM System of Parallel Indexing Cam

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to research CAD/CAM system for parallel division cam to realize the integrated designing and manufacturing for it, firstly, we classify parallel division cam into different series; secondly, based on the homogeneous coordinates theory, analysis and synthesize them of different series, then we can figure out the theoretic profile curvilinear equation and the actual profile curvilinear equation; after that, using VC ++ we develop the design system for parallel division cam based on above equations. The system has a friend interface dialog for inputting parameters, can achieve below functions: automatically synthesize the parameters for mechanisms, automatically create the profile of cams, saving data in format that UG required, generate the three-dimensional solid model, execute machining simulation and generate NC program code. The reliability of the system has been verified by instances.
