Speed Characteristic in Village and Definition of Safety Influencing Extent in Two-Way Highways

Article Preview

Abstract:

Many villages are located along highways in China, especially in two-way highways, which influence the drivers’ maneuver, then the traffic safety. Systematic experiments are designed to collect speed information about through vehicles. The video method is selected and the experimental sites include common segments, intersection segments, segments with villages are situated along both sides. Then the vehicle speed characteristic of different highway segment types are analyzed and compared. Basing on the speed characteristic, the safety influencing extent is also defined.
