Abstract: Space-time effect of excavation damaged zone (EDZ) has great impact on identifying rock mass parameters in underground excavation engineering. In this paper, methods and models for simulating EDZ are reviewed and classified. Based on mechanism analysis, a practical model using radius-displacement-dependent deformation modulus is proposed for dynamic excavation feedback analysis. In the model, EDZ is viewed as a three dimensional heterogeneous and variable disturbing field of parameter during excavation process. Thus, deformation modulus of EDZ rock mass evolves with space-time change along with construction stages. The model is proved to be available in parameter identification for rapid feedback analysis of underground engineering.

Abstract: In order to obtain 3-D geological modeling and visualization of complicated underground engineering, a 3-D geological visualization modeling based on data structures of B-Rep and NURBS is proposed. Through comprehensive analysis of common data structure for describing the space topology in the field of computer graphics, rapid establishment of accurate topological relation of 3-D geological models for underground engineering in complicated geological conditions and cavern groups is achieved. And the high-quality geometrical data and topological relation information for the geological visualization of slope engineering are provided. By taking a large coal mine as an example, the 3-D visualization model with many functional applications based on geological information is given, which provides a basic platform for the realization of 3-D digital management.

Abstract: By means of natural condition、scour and silting evolution and mathematical models of wave, tidal flow and sediment, numerical study is carried out on deposit-promoting schemes in the reclamation project of Wenzhou shoal at Oujiang estuary in this paper. The main conclusions are:The scouring and silting reached equilibrium is 0.1~1.2 m in west side and 0.1~0.9 m in east side.

Abstract: By means of natural condition and mathematical models of tidal flow and sediment, numerical study is carried out on suspension-diffusion in construction period after the reclamation project of Wenzhou shoal at Oujiang estuary in this paper. The main conclusions are: the suspension-diffusion is controlled by tidal current. The range of suspended sediment concentration more than 10mg/L is mostly in Wenzhou shoal area during filling sand construction, which is the continuous operation. Riprap construction is Instantaneous work; the range of scatter is limited.

Abstract: Finite element procedure was used to build a spatial model of a perforated caisson, the result was compared with the one that was calculated according to the current standard. It is pointed out that simplifying assumption of the standard is different from the actual structure, the side walls can’t act as fixed constraints for the front wall. The calculated mid-span moment in the middle span is close to the ANSYS result, while that in the side span is much smaller than the ANSYS result. It is recommended that the result is multiplied by a expansion coefficient.

Abstract: Coastal saline soil foundation was consolidated by surcharge preloading method based on the improving constructio technol-ogy. For instance, setting sand gravels separation layer, composite geo-membrane separation layer, improve embankment height, etc. The monitoring results are analyzed including the ground with every soil layer settlement. Combining with the test result of the shear strength of vane shear test and various ion content of soil samples,it is concluded that reinforcement effect of seashore saline soil consolidated by surcharge preloading method,at the same time, exclusion salt and reduce damage of the foundation.

Abstract: Pile jetty is a typical type of wharf in construction of port engineering and was often built in front of revetment. The reflected wave height, wave overtopping and pressure were usually reduced because of the barrier effect of upper platform and piles. Cross-section model test was in common use for the verification of structure design. The shelter effect of pile jetty on revetment was tested through cross-section wave physical model. Model scale was 1:20. The results show that the shelter effect is fairly obvious in high design water level. The reduction percentage was 33% of reflected wave height, 50% of wave overtopping and 30-50% of wave loading.

Abstract: Reasonably determining the width of the harbor channel is one of the key issues of waterway design. This paper compares with the domestic and international relevant provisions for determining the channel width, summarizes the main factors of affecting the channel width, and takes the proposed 250,000 ton waterway of Panjin Harbor waterway for example, calculates and analyzes the differences of each specification, and points out the shortcomings of the domestic existing norms of our country and gives out recommendations.

Abstract: Based on 8 group sediment samples of the median diameter between 0.0084 mm ~ 0.067 mm and the clay content between 1% ~ 40%, carried out the incipient condition test under current action and wave action respectively in laboratory, the results show that: sediment incipient condition increases with decreasing the median diameter and increasing the clay content; while the clay content is more than 10%, the incipient condition increases significantly with increasing the compactness of bottom sediment; the results can provide the reference for the engineering construction.
