Discussion on Mathematical Model for Proper Location and Scientific Layout of Chain Fitness Club

Article Preview

Abstract:

Chain fitness club is an important site for people’s fitness activities in China and with its increasing popularity, how to select rational sites and conduct scientific layout, it grows quite urgent. In order to give full play to the fitness club, the paper, intends to coordinate the site selection for national fitness and optimize its layout scientifically to meet the needs of the people maximally. This paper modeled the problem in that there are n residential areas (referred to as Collection), numbered from p 1, p 2, …, p n with their location coordinates known as p 1 (x 1, x 2) , p 2 (x 2, y 2) , …, p n (x n , y n ) respectively, and w i inhabitants. To establish m fitness clubs qi (uj , u j ), we assume residents in each district can have access to only one fitness club to do fitness exercise. The question is that how to plan and lay out the m fitness clubs enables the shortest total distance C for all residents’ reach to their fitness club. In this paper, the Location Model in Operational Research is employed to make an analytical study on this issue to establish the location model and meanwhile gives mathematical solutions to the model in detail.
