Abstract: The study investigates the air flow in the tangent intake system of an engine utilizing the combined dynamic mesh technique. The whole intake system region of an engine is separated into six distinct zones, including inlet port, inlet valve, outlet port, outlet valve, combustion chamber and cylinder piston top, that every zone generates a desirable grid based on the adaptive function. The 3D simulations are carried out and the velocity and pressure fields are obtained inside the intake system. The analysis on the numerical results shows that the combined dynamic mesh can adapt to multi-boundaries in the intake systems, and can add cells where they are needed in the mesh. The simulation by such technique, compared with those by the single mesh, is able to be better resolved the flow features of intake system of an engine

Abstract: A approach based on Analytic Network Process (ANP) and fuzzy theory is proposed in order to improve the evaluation system, which is comprised of correlative indexes, of product conceptual design schemes, as well as to select the best scheme and guide the continuous improvement of it. With the application of the concept of fuzzy measure, a new algorithm with ANP is introduced to replace Shapley algorithm to get the fuzzy measures. The interaction values among arbitrary number of evaluation indexes are calculated by plugging the fuzzy measures into the interaction index formula, which is deduced from Shapley value formula and fuzzy reasoning. Then according to the interaction values, the best scheme selected by calculating Choquet integral is improved further. Finally a case study of aged mobile phone design evaluation is conducted to demonstrate the application of this method.

Abstract: Passive adaptive MR damper is a new type of damper based on GMM inverse effect and MR effect, and it doesn’t need energy devices and can realize external force self-adaptation. A model of passive adaptive MR damper is established based on Jiles-Atherton model, the law of approach for the magnetomechanical effect, the magnetic circuit law and Bingham model. Experimental results show that the value of damping force is related to displacement and velocity: the larger the displacement, the greater the damping force; the faster the speed, the greater the damping force. This is consistent with the model.

Abstract: To enhance the earthquake resistance capacity of long-span continues bridge, theory and design of a new seismic isolating system are proposed based on the utilization of improved carbon structural steel material. Pseudo-static test result of the damping tenon, one essential energy dissipation component, proved the system’s excellent characteristic of consuming earthquake energy. Comparative experiments of three models reflect the working stability of the damping tenon confronted with different stimulation. Finite Element simulation further validates accuracy of the experiment and helps analyzing the material’s elastic and plastic developing status due to different load steps. Finally, this new seismic isolating system is recommended to long-span continues girder bridge designed on the basis of high level earthquake resistant standard.

Abstract: After the study on the cutting force of surging impulse in the ultrasonic plateau honing process, it was found that ultrasonic plateau honing has features that is either micro-honing or plateau honing. The research on the ultrasonic plateau honing experiment of cylinder liner using coarse honing, which can prove that every selected parameter match the standard of plateau honing. So this study is of great significance to the production of cylinder liner.

Abstract: By means of axial compressive and eccentric compressive tests of four Four-tube Concrete-filled Steel Tubular Laced Columns, to research the mechanical properties and failure modes of this structural without yield point. Research shows that, the failure modes of this model, as well as axial compressive short columns, have the same trend of oblique shear failure, and presenting overall bending failure under eccentric compression. The linear eccentricity takes a biggish influence on mechanical properties of laced columns.

Abstract: This paper presents the design and simulation of a mesoscale robot that can jump vertically. The robot uses the vibration of a piezocomposite actuator named LIPCA. A ratchet mechanism is designed to convert the vertical vibration to angular displacement. Then the displacement is transferred to a pair of links such that a spring is compressed. The elastic energy of spring is used to make the robot jump vertically. Simulation results verify that the robot can jump as high as about three times its body height.

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to study on the effect of the relief groove angle expressing the position in reducing noise of a swash plate axial piston pump. The relief groove is an important structure for reducing noise. Unfortunately the effect of the position of the relief groove is quite seldom explained in research reports. This paper focuses to this problem. A detail simulation model including the structure and position of the relief groove as well as the compressibility of oil film is built. The optimal shape of the relief groove is obtained by analyzing the flow ripple and cylinder pressure of the piston pump with the different shape of the relief groove on the port plate. The effect of the relief groove position and different structures on noise reducing is found by analyzing the flow ripple, cylinder pressure, sizes of relief groove and its location in different positions on the port plate. In this way the influences of the relief groove on reducing noise are found and the optimization of relief groove is obtained.

Abstract: The stability of conductivity is evaluated by measuring the resistance of Carbon-coated Filaments (CCFS) and analyzing the influence of temperature, relative humidity and washing on the resistance and relative resistance. The result shows that the with the increase of temperature and relative humidity, the resistance value trends to negative increase, and the electrical conductivity increases. Compared to temperature, the relative humidity has more influence on the electrical conductivity of CCFS. With the increase of washing times, the conductivity coating breaks off which results in the decrease of electrical conductivity.
