Research on Micro-Driver for Minitype USM

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this paper, a novel driving scheme using non-sinusoidal periodic signal is proposed, which is based on the driving principle of ultrasonic motor (USM).The PWM signal is generated by a micro-controller and the voltage is enlarged to 70v by a BOOST circuit. It is suitable for minitype USM using low voltage. A micro-driver with the dimension 2.1×2.3cm2 is constructed to drive a two-phase micro (2mm) USM and the motor operates well. It is proved that the proposed circuit is both feasible and reliable for the drive of low-voltage minitype USM, and the proposed scheme is helpful for the promotion of ultrasonic motor.
