Abstract:

The formation and evolution of paleostructures have an important impact on the migration, accumulation and distribution of ancient and present petroleum. This paper makes a particularly description of several common paleostructural restoration methods, including thickness method, tectonic reconstruction method, backstripping analysis method, paleo-horizon restoration method, balanced geological cross-section method and line-drawing method. Among them, line-drawing method is a new way to do research in paleostructures using seismic sections. Besides, this paper also concludes the factors which affect restoration of paleostructures.
