RTDs Based Cellular Neural/Nonlinear Networks with Applications in Image Processing

Article Preview

Abstract:

The resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs) are the quantum tunneling electronics in nano-scale size and have many interesting and valuable properties. Hence, they have been found numerous applications in high-speed digital and analog circuits to decrease the physical size and speed up the processing. This paper addresses the RTD based cellular neural/nonlinear networks (RTD-CNN). To verify its capacity, RTD-CNNs are employed to implement noisy removal, edge extraction and image inversion. A series of simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the RTD-CNNs in promising applications in image processing.
