Abstract: Hydraulic torque converter’s performance testing is very important in the product’s development and production. In order to accurately and rapidly test various performance parameters of the hydraulic torque converter, a torque converter performance test system was developed based on the PC and VB development platform in this paper. It can improve computing speed and programming capability, decrease artificial involved times, realize the data analysis processing’s automation.

Abstract: This paper using ABAQUS software to do the numerical simulation research for trabecular bending creep test of asphalt mixture , system analysis the internal stress distribution and deformation characteristics of the specimen, comparison research the test results and the fitting results, eventually get the method of determining the parameters to simulate the asphalt mixture creep behavior. As doing the numerical simulation for performance of asphalt mixture, which can give a practical significance for improve the asphalt mixture research level.

Abstract: The railway double-track continuous bridge vertical load-carrying frequency is calculated with the vehicle-bridge system mode1. When two lines with 20 same high-speed passenger vehicles are traveling on the 3×64 m through stud welding railway steel truss bridge from both ends, it is analyzed that the vehicle parameters how to influence the bridge vertical load-carrying frequency. The bridge vertical load-carrying frequency is influenced by the unsprung mass of each wheel-set of the vehicle, the suspension spring stiffness, the vehicle length and the mass of the vehicle. But it is independent of the speed of the train. It is shown that the bridge vertical load-carrying frequency is the vehicle-bridge system natural frequency, it is only depend on its natural parameters.

Abstract: Transverse rumble strips (TRS) are widely used by local authority in Malaysia to reduce vehicle speed and alert drivers to any changes on the road. The objective of this study was to evaluate the anticipated community reaction due to the external noise produced by the TRS. The evaluations were carried out through the noise levels measurement, calculation of the TNI and anticipated community response analysis. Measurements of noise level were taken at two locations of a rural roadway that have received complaints from the public i.e Kampung Pengkalan Raja (KPR) and Kilometer 52 (KM52) of Johor Bahru-Pontian federal road, in Pontian District, Johor. Results showed that TRS can increase the level of traffic noise, TNI values, and annoyance response in community. TNI values of 126dB(A) and 119dB(A) for KPR and KM52, respectively were exceeded suggested level of TNI for planning purpose of 74 dB (A) for 3% annoyance from the social surveys. Anticipated annoyance response analysis also indicated that resident in both locations received strong to very strong impact that can lead to vigorous community reaction and this was in agreement with the real reaction from the community.

Abstract: Stress contained in rails, mainly due to thermally-induced expansion and contraction, results in large longitudinal loads which lead to broken rails and track buckling. According to the beam bending theory of structural dynamics with a consideration of the influence of axial load, a CWR track model is developed in the present study to be used for extensive buckling analysis of CWR tracks. The model discusses CWR track vibration characteristics with a length of unsupported rail subjected to the longitudinal force due to fluctuation of temperature. From the result, it can be gotten that the critical point of the temperature which may cause the rail have the danger of unstable. This model would help to evaluated and measure the real temperature in rail by analyzing the dynamic response of CWR track.

Abstract: In order to optimize the questionnaires of lane-changing, to resolve the difficult question of small special the paper adopted a method of union design to get a plan on the method of SP and RP. The result showed that the answer and question were deduced, and drop the intension of reading and judging. The optimize questionnaires and conventional method were coherence. It could get all-sided characteristics of lane-changing.

Abstract: Pavement grooving is generally used to reduce hydroplaning and accidents by providing escaping channels for surface water. But the direction of grooving has influence on its performance. The purpose of this study is to provide a comparison of longitudinal and transverse diamond grooving pavement surface for newly constructed Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) in terms of skid-resistance and noise feature. The test-section is located in LI Jia-he Tunnel of Lantian-Shangluo expressway. The results show that the transverse grooving has a better performance to ensure the longitudinal skid resistance than that of longitudinal grooving pavement. However, the longitudinal grooving has a good performance of preventing vehicle side slipping and reducing the noise than that of the transverse grooving pavement.

Abstract: The hydraulic conductivity and strength of several aggregates (limestone, gravel and recycled concrete) are very important for pavement base construction. To study the influence of fines content on hydraulic conductivity and strength, constant/falling head permeability and CBR tests were performed. The results show that hydraulic conductivity exponentially decreases as fines content increases. Their values were also found to vary significantly as a function of aggregate type, gradation, and density. Particle degradation of recycled concrete aggregates is higher than crushed limestone and gravel, which leads to lower hydraulic conductivity values.

Abstract: The progress of vehicle collision can be broken into three stages: pre-collision, collision and post-collision. Although the direct collision lasts very little time, it is one of the most important stages of the whole process. On the basis of Momentum Conservation, Energy Conservation and improved Coefficient of Elastic Recovery, using Newtonian Mechanics, the paper constructs dynamics model for vehicles’ two-dimensional collisions, which can be used to calculate the velocities at the moments of before and after the collision. The paper uses the Software of PC-Crash as a comparative study, the results of which show that the proposed models are suitable for the analysis of collisions involving only two cars without second collision.

Abstract: The seismic safety evaluation of dam is always concerned by designers and researchers. Due to the limited field prototype observation data, the dynamic model failure tests become more effective means than numerical analysis to investigate nonlinear dynamic response and failure mechanisms of concrete dam. A large number of the tests had been performed in Dalian university of technology in china. This paper makes a detailed description on the dynamic model test on shaking table. The similitude rules are discussed, the model material is introduced, the procedure is described for the dynamic model test. Based on the PGA(peak ground acceleration) inducing the first tension crack at the model dam body, the response of prototype dam under strong earthquake can be assessed by the test.
