Abstract: Silicon steels tend to develop edge cracks during cold rolling, which need to be removed and cause rupture of the steel in the rolling mill. Hence, it is necessary to understand the formation of edge cracks. The damage distribution and the initiation and propagation of edge cracks occur around the notch tip during cold rolling process was investigated by using GTN damage model. The damage parameters f0, fc and fF are determined by tension experiments and SEM observation. The influence of various rolling parameters on damage distribution and crack length was simulated by using ABAQUS. The numerical results show that the GTN damage model is available to prediction the initiation and propagation of edge cracks during rolling process. Parametric study carried out in this present work reveals that the possible occurrence of edge cracks is higher at larger reduction, higher friction coefficient, smaller roll radius and stronger unit tension. The simulation and experimental results have a good agreement .

Abstract: Water user association(WUA) was considered as an effective means of solving water shortage problem. Famers’ enthusiasms of participation in WUA were not high in inland arid regions of northwest China. The research sought factors influencing farmers’ behavioural attitudes to WUA. We took the middle basin of Heihe River as study area, by an empirical investigating method with questionnaire, used the analysis of logistic regression model, to explore factors affecting farmers’ behaviours toward WUA. The emperical results showed that following factors were most important for farmers to join a WUA: (1) The farmers personal characteristics such as education, being a village cadre, and health status; (2) The family factor was the decision making of planting structure; (3) The natural endowment factors were area of water right and land patch. Finally, recommendations were put forward to provide possible references for water authorities.

Abstract: Sea surface temperature (SST) is a prerequisite for sea surface infrared imaging simulation. A temperature model suitable for seawater heat exchange is proposed based on the heat balance of air-sea interface and equations of fluid heat exchange. The model considers the air-sea heat transfer characteristics and influences of penetrating solar radiation in seawater. Effects of the solar radiation, sea surface wind speed and air temperature on SST are analyzed. Temperature model is also used to simulate the SST diurnal variation and compared with the measured values to verify the validity of the model. The results show that the model is useful for solution of sea surface transient temperature field and provides the basis for infrared imaging simulation of sea surface.

Abstract: The brake system plays a key role in the vehicle safety system. The drivers usually cannot depress the brake pedal immediately in emergencies. A new vehicle brake-assist mechanism using the transmission principle of the clutch is designed to solve this problem. This mechanism can automatically assist drivers to handle the emergency when they failed to brake in time. Thus, the danger can be avoided initiatively. Through experiment, the reliability and effectiveness of the actuator is proved. Compared to manual brake, the designed mechanism can be more exact and rapid.

Abstract: This paper introduces calibration technique for robot vision system, aiming to enhance the robot’s ability to adapt to various environments. In accordance with a calibration plate and car body, we figured out the relationship among the coordinates of car body, camera, and robot by image acquisition, processing, analysis, and calculation. An algorithm was developed to deduce the coordinate transformation between robot frame and calibration plate frame with 4 points. Its feasibility was validated by the experiment.

Abstract: This paper analysis the reasons that traditional CBIR can’t support based Semantic image retrieval, and gave a kind of method that Using SVM may solute it. Through studying and Classification, combining HSV Color feature as input parameter ,it realized the connection and map between the high-level semantics and low-level image features .Using this method to retrieve can have proved to get higher accuracy.

Abstract: Based on the equation analysis method and theorem dimensional analysis, the scaling rules between field tests and mode tests for embedded suction anchors have been investigated. Some critical parameters affecting the characteristics of anchor penetration and capacity are studied in detail. It is illustrated that although adopting non-normal scale because of using prototype of soil and water in model tests, the model tests could reflect the qualitative nature in field tests through adjusting some critical scale factors.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the status and the specific implementation problems of sustainable development of regional electricity enterprises in domestic and foreign. It demonstrates the importance of sustainable development of regional electricity enterprises in market. In order to more reasonably evaluate the importance, this article concludes an evaluation index system which is about sustainable development of the regional electricity enterprises, and a comprehensive evaluation model which is based on rough sets and support vector machine. Taking regional electricity enterprise in Hebei province as an example, it demonstrates that the sustainable development of power generation companies can benefit the power generation companies, power companies, power users and the whole community.

Abstract: The fault detection and isolation (FDI) for industrial robot manipulators, subject to faults of actuator, is devised in this paper. An adaptive observer is designed to tackle the robustness problem for unknown parameters due to faults, based on a bank of state observers. By using an adaptive regulating algorithm, the observer is ensured to be stable and the estimated errors are guaranteed to converge. Experimental results are reported for a planar robot under gravity, considering partial failures of the motor torques.

Abstract: A new potentiometric thiocyanate-selective membrane sensor based on salicyladehyde-o-aminophenol binuclear copper (II) [Cu2(II)-SOA] complex as a neutral carrier is reported, which displays a preferential potentiometric response to thiocyanate ion and an anti-Hofmeister selectivity sequence in the following order: SCN- > Sal- > ClO4- > I- > NO2- > Br- > Cl- > NO3- > SO32- > H2PO4- > SO42- . The sensor exhibits a near-Nernstian potential over a wide linear range of 6.0×10-7 - 1.0×10-1 M with a detection limit of 2.0×10-7 M and a slope of –56.2 mV/decade in pH 4.0 of a phosphate buffer solution at 20 °C.
