Study and Application of In-Tubing Flow Velocity for Preventing Erosion and Corrosion in Natural Gas Well

Article Preview

Abstract:

For natural gas well, erosion damage of the strings caused by high-velocity flowing gas is an important factor of gas well string life. Aiming at the gas well erosion, the different inner mechanisms of material erosion are analysed. This paper introduces calculation of in-tubing flow velocity for preventing erosion and corrosion. By taking Puguang gas field as an example, this paper optimizes the limiting anti-erosion production rate for different tubing sizes, and selects tubing sizes for Puguang gas field. Optimal modified gas well string in Puguang gas field has good performance of erosion resistance
