Abstract: Palm oil industry has increasingly become the important industry for Malaysia. However, only a limited number of researches have been conducted on improving the palm oil industries. This research attempted to contribute by improving forecast activity along the palm oil industry. Specifically, this research centred on the development of forecast software for a Malaysian based palm oil estate. The developed forecasting software can be used to assist the estate manager in predicting accurately their monthly delivery quantity to the palm oil mill. The forecast technique selected for this research was the trend adjusted exponential smoothing technique. The performance of the trend adjusted exponential smoothing technique based software was then compared to the naïve method. Comparison in the performance indicated that the trend adjusted exponential smoothing produces lower root mean square error, which is equivalent to 14.6% of error produced by the naïve method. This finding emphasises the efficiency of the trend adjusted exponential smoothing in predicting the monthly delivery quantity by the palm oil estate.

Abstract: This paper presents the numerical and experimental studies of the residual stresses in Al 2024 T3 specimens due to cold hole expansion (CHE) using ball and taper mandrel techniques. A three dimensional, non-linear finite element analysis has been performed to simulate the CHE process and experiments were conducted to determine the residual stresses due to CHE with 2 - 6 % expansion of holes. The residual stresses were determined experimentally by employing strain gauges around the hole during the expansion. Experimental and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results showed that the residual stresses increased up to 5 % of hole expansion and decreased further in both the techniques of CHE and the same were greater in case of tapered mandrel than that of ball mandrel method. At the optimum expansion of 5%, the FE predictions and experimental results concurred with each other with a maximum deviation of 2%.

Abstract: Emergency plan is a project document to guide and deal with public emergency events, and also is the core of emergency management. Nowadays, most emergency plans in China exist in non-semantic form and are difficult to play roles effectively. Ontology is an important method to describe semantic model. Therefore, in this paper, emergency plan ontology model is constructed by ontology technology of semantic Web and Web Ontology Language OWL, which formally describes the conceptions of emergency plan and the relations between them. Finally, the model is used in ontology-based semantic retrieval system, and improves the retrieval recall and precision.

Abstract: A new improved algorithm of Taboo Search (TS), namely, Hybrid Taboo Search (HTS) is first introduced and tried for several test functions having multiple local optima. Here, Taboo Search was improved by combining Immune Arithmetic (IA) and Simulated Annealing (SA). Several strategies to improve the TS have been presented before, but the focus here is on the novelty, availability and precision of algorithm. There are several optimization problems in computer-aided design, so the article used the improved HTS in computer-aided optimization problems, the performance of which is compared with the performance of conventional TS (TS). Results show that HTS plays an important role in solving computer-aided optimization problems with the effectiveness and higher accuracy.

Abstract: In this paper, the running stability, the resonant frequency seeking ability of the novel HFFT (High frequency fatigue tester) control system are introduced. Firstly the HFFT control system model is developed. Secondly the HFFT control system dynamic characteristics is simulated and tested, which includes the dynamic load control loop and the frequency locked loop. Finally a experimental result is shown. Compare to the conventional PID control system, the novel tester’s dynamic characteristics are more preferable.

Art is a visual art works rely on a certain occasion displayed, to the role in people's thoughts, feelings and tastes, influence people's spiritual qualities. Art Museum of China and internationally active creative arts prosperous trends and patterns of view, there is a gap. And the Museum of Modern Art in today's world given the social attributes and functions of the embodiment of public cultural services than there is a gap. New time of global economic integration process and the development of knowledge economy, and the popularization of network technology. Museum management should be on how to change to adapt to this situation, the future will be how to develop innovation to meet environmental requirements are the contents of this study.

Abstract: As the core technology of next generation network, IMS supplies the standards and perfect methods to lay out the new service and converge between the traditional network and telephone and mobile network. IMS also provides the operators with a set of network system and new service means. Analyzing IMS system structure and combining the features of network convergence, this paper puts forward a network convergence plan based on IMS and fixed-mobile convergence.

Abstract: There are geometric distortions in all the images produced by the CCD camera lens, and the distortions are all nonlinear. Coordinate conversion is an effective method for geometric correction. The calculations will boost as the higher degrees of the polynomial. It is impossible to apply directly in real time correction system. This article introduces a correction according to divided areas through linear polynomial on the base of higher degree polynomial coordinate conversions. In the method the image is divided into uneven loop like areas at first. In each area you can take a linear polynomial approximating higher degree polynomial. Because CCD camera lens distortions are radial distortions, high precision can be acquired through the linear polynomial on the base of higher degree polynomial. In the same time the calculations can be decreased and meet the needs of real-time correction. Apply this method on large touch screen, it can correct the distortion effectively and is useful in engineering.
