The Influence of Decomposition and Slagging of Limestone to Temperature in Convertor

Article Preview

Abstract:

The influences of converter temperature on decomposition and slagging of limestone were discussed by industrial tests and numerical calculation. The results showed that heat transfers quickly in the internal of limestone because heat energy is sufficient and surface of limestone is constantly updated in convertor, which makes the temperature of the centre of spherical limestone particle higher than the decomposition temperature, but the decomposition reaction has not arrived at the centre. Consequently, it is deduced that heat transfer is not the restrictive step of limestone decomposition in convertor steelmaking process.
