Design of Active Structural Acoustic Control System Using Volume Displacement Sensors and Uniform Force Actuators
Abstract:
With an example of simply supported beam, it is presented a new volume displacement sensor and uniform force actuator design method to active control of structure-borne sound. An array of rectangular segments of PVDF film and PZT attached on the front and back surface of the beam are taken as sensor and actuator respectively. The output signals of the PVDF films are multiplied by appropriate weights so that the weighted combinations of the outputs directly lead to the volume displacement of the beam. The input control of each PZT actuator is driven by the same control input voltage but with different appropriate weights so that PZT array generates a uniform force over the beam. Finally, optimal control simulations are performed to validate this sensor/actuator strategy
