Directionally Solidified Laser Cladding

Abstract:

To repair a directionally solidified aero blade, laser cladding on GH710 substrate using stainless steel powder and Ni-based alloy powder by Nd:YAG laser was carried out. The condition of achieving directional solidification in the open and normal temperature environment was researched. The effect of technical parameter and powder composition on the microstructure of the cladding layer was analysed. The microstructure of the cladding layer was investigated. The results show that the directionally solidified cladding layer was acquired by the appropriate technical parameter. It was difficult for the Ni-based powder cladding layer to get directionally solidified cladding layer in comparison with the stainless steel powder.
