Risk Study on Underground Construction Using Reliability Theory

Article Preview

Abstract:

Risks existing in underground construction are summarized. A parallel and series model of risk control system is established based on reliability theory. According to the required target of system reliability, combined with the reliability distribution, reliabilities of each subsystems constituting the parallels and series model can be determined. Aiming at the basic events constituting subsystems, an average distribution method was taken to solve the basic events reliabilities and an example was given. It is illustrated in the study that the reliability theory can be successfully applied in the field of underground construction and can achieve the optimization of construction safety.
