Optimizing Design of New Kind Acoustic Horns for Ultrasonic Machining Based on Finite-Element Method

Article Preview

Abstract:

In view of inaccuracy of the traditional design method of acoustic horns with milling tool, by using the cubic spline curve as the generatrix of the axis cross-section of the horn with finite element analysis, this paper designs a kind of new ultrasonic horn not only meet the Material Allowable working stress conditions, but also has a good shape factor and larger amplification factor. In addition, the impact of the length of milling tool on the amplification factor and resonance length of the horns and are discussed.
