Abstract: Removal of dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) were investigated in treatment line including conventional treatments (coagulation, sedimentation and rapid sand filtration) and advanced treatments (pre-ozonation, high density clarification and V-filter) in Yangshupu waterwork. The correlation between DON and water qualities including UV254, DOC, NO3--N, NH4+-N and SUVA in water samples were studied as well. According to the results, removal efficiency of DOC, UV254 and DON after conventional treatment were 25.1%, 43.3% and 31.1% respectively. Pre-ozonation could increase the concentration of DON in samples. Removal efficiency of DOC, UV254 and DON were 24.5%, 40.2% and 29.6%, respectively, after the advanced treatment. The results from linear regression analysis showed that DON is moderately correlated to UV254 and DOC, with the correlatition confficent of 0.807 and 0.775 respectively. However, DON showed slightly correlated with NO3--N, NH4+-N and SUVA.

Abstract: Based on the experimental data of sediment particle cloud during the settlement process in the water and combined with the existing sediment settling velocity formulae, a formula for calculation of the settling velocity of sediment particle cloud is proposed. It is verified by using experimentally measured settling velocity data of sediment particle cloud, the results show that the computed values using the formula agree well with the experimental values.

Abstract: Several core parameters in supercritical thermal power plant were briefly outlined, which had the significance in safe and economic operation. The influence and damage of Cl-, SO42- in steam and water system were discussed, and the mathematical relationship between the cation conductivity and the concentration of Cl-, SO42- was described in room temperature. Meanwhile, the iron transport and deposition in steam and water system was analyzed, according to iron oxide solubility at different temperature and pressure.

Abstract: The mechanism of sodium hypochlorite reducing organic matter in boiler makeup water is disscussed. To remove organic matter, sodium hypochlorite sterilizes the boiler makeup water through its strong oxidbillity and oxidates small unsaturated molecules directly and improves the surface properties of macromolecule organic matter. Besides, the organic content in boiler makeup water can be reduced through the synergistic effect that happens between NaClO and Fe2+ when the water contains Fe2+

Abstract: Vacuum sewerage system (VSS) is an ecological wastewater collection system in which negative pressure difference in pipelines is used to transport sewage gradually to vacuum station for centralized treatment. Classification and application areas of VSSs were reviewed. Various vacuum generators in vacuum stations were compared. Types and key technologies of user terminals in VSSs were presented. Conveying mechanism of vacuum pipelines was illustrated. The way to discharge sewage from VSSs was introduced.

Abstract: Considering the characteristics of raw water quality and multi-water supply pump station of the raw water system, optimum combination water supply model based on the water quality guarantee are presented. Groundwater supply network topology structure is established. Then, the optimal solutions of the model are obtained, using MATLAB and artificial intelligent optimization technique. The arsenic pollutants in demonstration area are under controlled and the raw water system operation efficiency is enhanced, meeting the water quantity and water pressure at the same time. We put forward a new angle, for composite water quality raw water system optimization modeling.

Abstract: As the scale of the air conditioning system is constantly increasing, some problems still exist and remain to be solved in the chilled water system. Among them, the leading problems lie in the insufficient research of the overall character on the user side and lack of simulation analysis. Corresponding calculating procedures are mixed programmed using VB and FORTRAN language to conduct to simulating analysis, to testify reliability and feasibility of the method.

Abstract: Distribution and transformation of molecular weight of organic matters in canal raw water, primary coagulated water, secondary coagulated water, enhanced coagulated water and water filtered by activated carbon were monitored by ultrafiltration membrane method. The results show that organics on the fraction of molecular weight less than 2kDa has the largest ratio in total organics of outlets of coagulation and activated carbon tank. Removal rate of total organics is about 73% by secondary coagulation, but which of micromolecule organics of molecular weight less than 2kDa is only 10%, which can be removed by activated carbon more than 80%.

Abstract: The application of the linear motor is a hot topic in current researching. The dynamic thrust testing is not also an important indicator in the study of linear motor, but also one of the difficulties in the study of linear motor characteristics. The LSM-SA dynamic thrust testing device was researched in the gate of river and main canal. According to compare with the traditional dynamic thrust test, its principle, advantages and disadvantages was illustrated. Some improvements were further made. Meanwhile, the variation of the improved cogging force was analyzed, the curve of the cogging force was made and the LSM-SA testing equipment was designed. Finally, the accuracy of the equipment was verified. It can directly conduct a test of the dynamic thrust. Nowadays, flood protection and disaster prevention has become an urgent task to solve, it is directly related to the country’s economy and people’s lives. The dynamic thrust to control the gate of the river and the main canal was used to prevent disaster. Therefore, the determination of the dynamic thrust becomes particularly important. In order to achieve the system to operate efficiently and accurately, the size of the dynamic thrust must be accurately determined. The device could achieve high accuracy direct drive to ensure the safe and effective operation of the gate of the river and the main canal, develop the water conservancy.
