Abstract: Support Vector Regression(SVR) has been successfully applied for medium and long-term load forecasting with many researches. However, the prediction performance relies heavily on the regularity of the set of training samples. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used in this paper to refine the weighted coefficient for the Least Square SVM in order to improve the computational efficiency and precision. The comparative analysis with empirical data of a province prove the intended advantages of the proposed method.

Abstract: Pumped storage is the largest-capacity form of grid energy storage available. A multi-period oligopolistic model for analyzing the bidding strategies of pumped storage GenCo (PSG) is proposed in this paper. In the pumping periods, the pumped storage unit (PSU) is simulated as a special load. While in generating periods, PSU is treated as a normal generator. In this model, all GenCos are assumed to exercise Cournot strategies to maximize their own profits. The resulting equilibrium formulation is established in terms of a mixed linear complementarity problem. The purpose of this paper is to provide an efficient simulation tool for the PSG to determine its bidding strategy in an oligopolistic environment. The proposed model can also be used to study various factors that may impact PSG’s profit. Results of a six-bus test system are analyzed to illustrate the characteristics of the proposed model.

Abstract: The safety of the electricity network management system has become the important issue of concern by people today. SNMPv3 increased the security management mechanism on the basis of v1 and v2c, can resist the massage tampering, data intercepted, and other network security attacks effectively, ensured the reliability of network management better. This paper studies the modular frame structure of SNMPv3, introduces a new message structure and messages interaction process, shows the process of message handling based on USM(user-based security model). Finally, the USM is implemented in the actual electricity network management.

Abstract: The critical chain project management theory(CCPM) combining the critical chain technology and resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) is an important innovation of project control methods, and it’s widely used to optimize the project duration recently. In this paper the theory presented is applied to the maintenance period arrangements of power plant electrical equipment, and a mathematical model of optimizing the maintenance period is established. Then an improved heuristic algorithm is designed and used to establish equipment maintenance precedence network. On this basis, a new identification method of maintenance network based on critical chain is proposed. Finally, it’s verified with a numerical example that the method proposed can effectively shorten the maintenance period of power plant electrical equipment.

Abstract: The increasing environmental stress and energy crisis promote the distributed generation (DG) to integrate in the distribution network, thus cost characteristics of DGs are important to decision-makers for distribution network expansion and reinforcement. Firstly, this paper analyzed the fixed cost and variable cost of different types of DGs (such as micro-turbine, internal combustion engine, wind power, PV and fuel cell. and then drew the yearly cost characteristic curves. Secondly, we respectively calculated the relevant costs of thermal power generation and distributed generation. These costs include pollutant-emission cost and governance cost considering three types of pollutants, i.e. SO2, NOx and TSP. By doing this, we could better know the environmental benefits of DG compared with conventional power generation. Thirdly, we added the environmental benefits of distributed generation to the variable cost and regarded the final result as comprehensive variable cost. If reflects the environmental advantage of DG. Finally, we drew the cost characteristic curve with environmental benefit of DG. The research would provide reference when choosing the type and capacity of distributed generation in distribution network planning.
