Study of Secondary Flows’ Impact on Separation Performance of Cyclone Separator

Article Preview

Abstract:

Distributing conditions of velocity, pressure and pressure loss of the airflow were displayed by conducting finite element analysis on cyclone separator, and the formation of the secondary flow and the relationship between secondary flow and particle separating were analyzed, these work lead to conclusions that the secondary flow has direct relationship with the turbulence intensity in cyclone separator, the larger the turbulence intensity is, the easier the secondary flow is brought out, and that the secondary flow will cause the phenomena of short circuit, back mixing and re-entrainment, which will involve the material into the exhaust pipe and exert bad influence on the separating effect.
