Abstract: In this paper, a generalized conforming thick/thin plate element based on the quadrilateral area coordinate system called AATF-PQ4 is developed. Based on the governing equations of Mindlin-Reissner plate theory, the fundamental analytical solutions are first derived, then using this trial functions to formulate element AATF-PQ4. In the case of thin plate, this thick/thin plate element is degraded into corresponding thin plate element automatically and is free from shear locking. Numerical examples show that the proposed element, AATF-PQ4, has a good precision for thick and thin plate.

Abstract: A cutting slope model can be simplified as plane strain one, the stress field of cutting slope can be analyzed with elastic wedge body theory. By using strength criterion of slope material (Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion with safety reserve and uniaxial tensile strength criterion), the disturbed zone caused by excavation can be calculated in 3D stress state, so all the disturbed zone after each step of excavation from the top down can be searched out. The main analysis steps for judging disturbed zone are described in the paper, including the methods to calculate the stress state of cutting slope, the unloading value and the scope of disturbed zone after last step of excavation. Finally, an example in Suining-Ziyang expressway engineering is chosen to explain detailedly the analytical process with elastic wedge body theory to determine the disturbed zone.

Abstract: Weathering effects, expansive pressure and pore water pressure are investigated to evaluate their effect on expansive clay slope stability. In particular, the effect of expansive pressure is analyzed to consider its effect on the stability of surface layer of the slope. In this paper, the distribution of expansive pressure in a slope is evaluated and used to analyze the stability of the surface layer of a clay slope. The proposed analysis method is applied in the third ring road project in Chengdu, China, where there are expansive clay slopes. Reasonable results are achieved.

Abstract: Three-stage simulation method [ was adopted to simulate the collapse process of a continuous girder bridge after being impacted by ship with considering pile-soil dynamic interaction and bridges initial stress before collision. The deformation, distribution of stress and responses of bridge were emphatically analyzed in this paper, which revealed the dynamic response and collapse mechanism of continuous girder bridge under impact load.

Installation and removal of template support-system are the largest amount of labor. To seek the template works rationalization and reduce the cost of the template works, it is an important way to save a lot of labor and reduce the cost of concrete structure. Therefore, how to improve the template engineering design and its production, installation, operation and removal efficacy effectively and make further reform of the template project for improving the quality of the project are of great significance in the construction of civilization.

Abstract: Pure adhesive bond of FRP to concrete is not only weak but also unreliable in a long term. This problem can be effectively overcome by a newly developed bond enhancement system the hybrid bonded FRP system (HB-FRP) in which small mechanical fasteners are used to augment the bond. In this paper, the bond behaviors of EB-FRP and HB-FRP joints were experimentally investigated by employing the single shear pull-off test on three EB-FRP and seven HB-FRP specimens with different bond lengths. Experimental testing is reported for characterization of the interfacial bond of the HB-FRP system.

Abstract: In order to investigate packer failures during multi-stage fracturing in horizontal open-hole wells, mechanical model is established according to the working process of multi-stage fracturing. The influence of temperature and pressure changes on packers and tubing string is considered in this model. Case study indicated that force in each packer changes obviously in different fracturing stage; the force on the hanger is large in the whole fracturing process, and it will change direction opposite to the original direction in the last fracturing interval; in a given fracturing interval, the force in the upper packer is much higher than that in the lower packer; due to the restriction of the packers, the axial force distribution of the tubing is not smooth and changes abruptly at packers. Therefore, the pressure bearing capacity of packers should be taken into account during design and operation, and based on which appropriate packers and operation parameters be selected.

City construction is equivalent to loading in constantly on the geological bodies which the city depends on. The transmission and distribution of Additional stress generated by load in geotechnical body is the root cause of security geological impact. The article created the models that load transmits in geotechnical medium, and use laboratory experiments to study the role of the load on the geotechnical body, on the basis of laboratory we analyzed the expression of city construction acts, including the conversion methods, mechanisms of the action, features of the action.
